Ultimately, we just want to genuinely share the love of Christ with our homeless friends in Nashville and spend quality time with them.

Serving Nashville

Hands Up High Ministries Homeless Outreach
Our goal with Serving Nashville is to share the gospel with the lost and help strengthen our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ that reside on the streets of Nashville.  We provide free coffee donated by Starbucks, Bibles, blankets, Christian music, and listening ears to help us achieve our goal.  One of the unique attributes about Serving Nashville is that we make the effort to build real relationships.  We've recently implemented a "Gold Star" program to help those who are seeking a deeper relationship with God to hide more scriptures in their hearts.  The concept is simple... every month we bring a new scripture with three key points summarizing it.  When we come back the following month everyone will have the opportunity to recite the verse from the previous month and receive a "Gold Star" in their Bibles.  This outreach takes place at the Church Street Park in Nashville on the last Saturday of every month at 10 AM.  Anyone is welcome to join us and participate in this outreach. Ultimately, we just want to genuinely share the love of Christ with our homeless friends in Nashville and spend quality time with them.

We hold a high standard for how we witness and carry out this outreach for Christ.  Before we begin Serving Nashville, we have a meeting with our staff and volunteers.  We pray and then go over the logistics for the day.  This takes no longer than ten minutes, but helps to ensure that the outreach is fruitful and a positive experience for all.

Our Gold Star Program has been put into place to encourage and strengthen our friends on the streets in their personal relationships with God.  Every month we bring a new scripture with three key points about the verse to help explain it.  Our staff and volunteers spend time talking with the homeless and answering any questions they may have about the verse. We want to help them hide scripture in their hearts.  When we come back the following month everyone will get the chance to recite their verse and receive a “Gold Star” in their Bibles that we’ve given them.  We will always have Bibles with us for those who need them.

We document the special memories and God stories from each Serving Nashville outing.  So, if you can’t make the event, but are supporting us through prayer, donations, etc., the Serving Nashville Journal is a way for you to stay informed.  We update the journal on our website every month.  God is doing great things through our ministry and your support helps make what we do possible.  Thank You!

We would like to say a big thank you to Starbucks for their partnership and support...

THANK YOU!!!

Verse Of The Day

Ephesians 2:8-10 (NIV)

8  For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—  9  not by works, so that no one can boast.  10  For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

Break Down:

1. As Christians we have been saved by grace, through faith.  (God sent His son Jesus to die on a cross for your sins)

2. Grace is a gift from God – we are all sinners and cannot earn our way to heaven.

3. God created you to do great things!

Highlights

One of the highlights from this Serving Nashville outing was spending time with our old friend, Alex Versace.  We were discussing the verse of the day with her and she shared a profound quote that really inspired us... "Grace is the state of being one with God."  Her wisdom really resonated with us so we had to share it with you.  Alex has been apart of Serving Nashville since the beginning.  She is truly a blessing to us!
